Sculpting the Collection: Book Exhibition
- 29 April 2024 - 3 May 2024
- 12pm-5pm
- Pilkington Library
An exhibition of books relating to the University’s sculpture collection.
Throughout sculpture week a selection of books relating to our sculpture collection will be on display in Pilkington Library. Together with colleagues from the Library, LU Arts have chosen books that shed light on sculptors’ philosophies, contain historic photographs of works on our campus, and provide biographical details on some of the sculptors featured across campus.
Come along to learn about Atta Kwami’s combination of vernacular West African styles with European modernism, Lynn Chadwick’s stellar career, or the sculptures of the ‘Loughborough Group’.
Members of the public can access the library to view this exhibition. However, in order to comply with library regulations, please bring photo ID with you if possible. Under 18s should be accompanied by an adult but will not require their own photo ID.
This event is part of Sculpture Week 2024 - a celebration of our campus sculpture collection featuring online talks and campus events.
Accessibility
There is step-free access into the Library and the exhibition is on the entrance level. There are accessible toilets on this level. There are two allocated car parking spaces in the Library car park for users who are registered as disabled and have the relevant disabled sticker displayed in their vehicle.
