Papers invited for 2012 Loughborough Antennas and Propagation Conference
Papers are invited for the eighth annual Loughborough Antennas and Propagation Conference (LAPC), being held at the University in November.
LAPC is the largest annual UK conference dedicated to the field of antennas and propagation. This established series of conferences regularly attracts 250 national and international participants from academia, research institutes, industry and government bodies. Taking place from 12 – 13 November, it will be held in the University’s Burleigh Court four star Hotel.
Invited guest speakers will be presenting at the following special sessions:
- New and emerging technologies for antennas (including nano and portable antennas, new materials)
- Radio propagation and sensor networks (including body networks)
- Latest developments in measurements and simulation (for both antenna and propagation)
- Energy, antennas and propagation (including wireless power transmission and energy harvesting)
Loughborough University has extensive expertise in the field of antennas and propagation. Research into wireless communications has been conducted at the campus for more than 20 years and in 1998 this was further enhanced by the creation of the Centre for Mobile Communications Research in the School of Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering. The group specialises in antennas and associated devices for mobile telephony in GSM, GPS, UMTS, UWB, BluetoothTM and WLAN applications.
It features a range of modelling tools and measurements facilities, including network and spectrum analysers, two anechoic chambers suitable for full characterisation of antennas and handset measurements, and a Dosimetric Assessment System for standardised Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) measurements.
Since its inception, the group has built up an international reputation for the quality of its research on both academic subjects and industry based projects.
LAPC offers registration fee concessions for students and IEEE/IET members. Registration fees are held at 2011 prices for IEEE/IET members and non-members, with student fees also reduced. For further information about the conference email lapc@lboro.ac.uk
