Phase Vision ranks highly in top 50 university spinout companies
Phase Vision, the technology leader in white light metrology and Loughborough University spinout, has achieved 26th place in a new national league table for university spinout companies.
The Telegraph’s supplement ‘Your Business’ has just begun tracking the progress of 50 highly promising university spinouts to show the breadth of cutting edge technology emerging from Britain’s universities. It has used a scoring system developed by YouNoodle, the global directory of start- ups, which currently includes more than 25,000 companies and pulls in over 150,000 start-up news stories every day. The site allows business owners, customers and investors to measure and track both the progress and news stories associated with any start-up online.
Phase Vision was formed in 2002 as a consultancy spinout from Loughborough University, using technology developed by the world-renowned Optical Engineering Research Group based in the Wolfson School of Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering. In 2008, the company started development of a breakthrough fringe projection shape measurement system. After extensive beta trials in 2009, the same year the company secured funding of over £1.4 million, Phase Vision’s new scanners are set to launch this year.
