Library facts and figures
The Pilkington Library opened in 1980. It covers 7,777 square metres over three floors with 900 study places, including 140 workstations.
We have over 500,000 books; 90,000 bound serials and access to approximately 19,000 e- journals.
We have 87 members of staff; 55 full-time equivalents (32 full-time; 55 part-time).
The Library uses the ALEPH management system, supplied by Ex Libris, the Dewey Decimal Classification, and Intellident RFID self service.
