How to apply for a student exchange
If you are a Loughborough University student who wishes to study or complete a work placement overseas, please see below for application details regarding Erasmus and International student exchanges.
If you are a student from a partner University who is looking to come to Loughborough University for a study stay, please refer to the Incoming students home page.
How to apply for the Erasmus programme?
- Check if your School/ Department offers an exchange. Click here for a list of departments that offer exchanges.
- Contact your School/Departmental Exchange Coordinator who will be able to offer you advice on which university you can study at (each academic department has established specific links in Europe) and which modules you can take. He/she will also explain how your study and/or work placement period abroad will be incorporated into your degree programme.
- Obtain and complete an application form from your host institution, or employer.
- Complete the forms listed below, to be returned to the Loughborough exchanges team by the following deadlines:
- 14 JUNE 2013 (For full year or semester one exchange)
- 15 NOVEMBER 2013 (For semester two exchange)
Please refer to the Erasmus student application handbook 2013-14 before completing your application.

How to apply for an international exchange programme
Students wishing to apply for an international exchange through an institutional exchange agreement should apply through their School/Department and will not be able to apply directly to a host institution unless selected to do so.
The competition for 2013-14 has now closed. Details of the 2014-15 competition will be made available here in September 2013.
