Temporary traffic lights on Loughborough campus

From 6–24 May, University Road is closed between the Schofield and Haslegrave Buildings to allow for essential maintenance work to be undertaken.

As a result, drivers are being diverted along Magaret Keay Road in front of the Schofield Building, around the back of the Geography Building and up to the crossroads where the Bridgeman Building is located.

Temporary traffic lights have been set up between the Geography Building and Car Park 5 due to the width of the road, so buses and lorries can pass through safely.

We understand as a result, this may add a small delay to your journey in and out of campus, but we please ask drivers to be considerate and patient with this diversion. The team is aware that whilst drivers cannot see the other set of lights, we’d like to reassure everyone that the lights are working correctly. If drivers ignore the lights however, this can cause issues with the signalling and cause the light signals to work incorrectly and cause further problems/delays.

If drivers would like an alternative route onto campus, you can use the Spinney Hill or West Park entrances, which may be a quicker option to get to your destination whilst temporary signals are in place.
