Complete the Student Street Support Scheme survey

The Student Street Support Scheme survey is an opportunity for students to give their opinions about the initiative and the support it offers for students.

The aims of the scheme are to provide welfare support to students, especially lone females, and to minimise noise disturbance to local residents as a result of students travelling between campus and town late at night.

The scheme operates on most Wednesday and Friday evenings during term times, as well as other busy times of year, including Freshers’ Week and after exam seasons.

It was introduced following discussions between the members of Charnwood Community Safety Partnership (which includes the University) and local residents. The scheme is funded by the Community Safety Partnership with an additional contribution from the University.

The Community Safety Partnership is now calling on students and local residents to comment on the scheme’s value and impact.  Feedback will be taken into consideration in deciding whether the scheme should continue as it is, be substantially changed or the funding be used for other community safety initiatives.

The survey will open on Friday 26 April at 6am and will close on Friday 10 May at 11.45pm. Those completing the survey will have the option of being entered into a prize draw to win a £50 Love Loughborough voucher.
