Accreditation
Accreditation represents a stamp of quality for a school, its research and its programmes. The School of Business and Economics is proud of the prestigious accreditations it holds for specific functions and programmes.
The School is among a global elite of institutions that offer both an AMBA-accredited MBA as well as holding EQUIS-accreditation for the quality of all its programmes and research.
AMBA
In May 2008, the Association of MBAs (AMBA) re-accredited our Part-Time MBA for five years, the maximum accreditation period awarded by AMBA. The new Full-Time MBA and International Sports Management MBA are currently in the process of being accredited by AMBA in time for October 2012.
AMBA accreditation confirms the international credibility and value of the Loughborough MBA in a market consisting of many hundreds of MBA programmes worldwide. It is therefore highly valued by MBA applicants. Only a select group of MBA programmes are accredited by AMBA and Loughborough University has held the status for well over a decade.
EQUIS
The School of Business and Economics is one of just 1% of business schools in the world to be EQUIS accredited by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD).
The fundamental objective of EQUIS is to raise the standard of management education worldwide. Among the factors assessed by EQUIS are the academic quality and professional relevance of all programmes, the degree of engagement with business and industry, the quality of facilities and the learning environment, and the level of an institution’s commitment to internationalisation.
First accredited in 2008, our successful re-accreditation in 2011 further cements the School’s reputation as a leading provider of education and research in business, economics and finance.
