We consider an elastic dimer formed by two bound equal masses and moving along an electrically active filament in one dimension. Thermal fluctuations combined with ac or with dc electrical field may lead to a nonzero net dimer current. Hereby the center of mass of the dimer moves on average in a preferd direction which depends on the binding potential between the two dimer heads as well as on the frequency of the external drive. For charged dimers driven by dc field we demonstrate the effect of the dimer rest length on the net current. For electrically neutral dimers we show that due to coupling between the relative motion of the two dimer heads and their motion along the filament, an unbiased ac drive may lead to rectification current.
