Phd Research

I joined the department of Politics, History and International Relations in October 2010. The research for my PhD concerns “Pan-European epistemic security cooperation”. The major aim is to analyse the potential and significance of epistemic communities in reinforcing pan-European security cooperation. To conduct the research, first the existence and appearance of epistemic communities in the pan-European security environment is mapped out. Building upon this, their structures, methods, procedures and involvement are identified. Keeping in mind the impact of other types of actors, the thesis then moves on to determine the significance of epistemic communities in reinforcing pan-European security cooperation.

Academic Biography

I completed a BSc in European Studies at the University of Twente (2006-2009). Within the last year of the BSc I interned at the Center for European and North Atlantic Affairs in Slovakia. Subsequently I completed a MA in International Politics and Security Studies at the University of Bradford (2009-2010).

My research interests are predominantly Foreign and Security Politics (particularly in the European Region), as well as International Security-Political Cooperation, and European Governance.
