Postgraduate study
All staff in the Department are involved in MA teaching and research supervision, so we can offer expert support for all postgraduate work in many areas of post-medieval English literature and Drama and in some fields of Linguistics. There are currently 48 research students in the Department, many of them with external funding for their studies, and in a typical year there are 30-50 students taking our various taught MA programmes. This postgraduate community is highly international, with students from across Europe, the Americas, and the Near, Middle, and Far East and South Asia.

All postgraduate students receive research methods training tailored to the specialisms they are pursuing, provided within the Department, and at faculty and university level, and by collaborative links with other universities in the East Midlands area.
