Our achievements
Loughborough is one of the country's leading universities, highly regarded, justifiably proud of its many achievements and recently named University of the Year by the Sunday Times for 2008/09.
In the 2011 Guardian University Guide Loughborough was ranked an impressive 9th out of 118 institutions, while in the Times Good University Guide for 2011 the University ranked 16th - cementing its status as one of the country’s pre-eminent universities.
For the past four years, Loughborough has been voted the UK's 'Best Student Experience' in the prestigious Times Higher Awards - highlighting the excellent community atmosphere, extracurricular activities and societies, and the good environment on campus and around the University.
Loughborough was also recognised for its commitment to supporting students from abroad in the 2007 awards, winning 'Outstanding Support for Overseas Students'.
The National Student Survey provides students with the opportunity to voice their opinions on their higher education student experiences. Loughborough University has been rated in the top five for three years running. In the 2007 survey, 89% of students said they were satisfied with the quality of their course and five subject areas topped the tables for 'overall satisfaction'.
In recognition of its contribution to the UK Higher Education sector, Loughborough University research has been instrumental in the award of six Queen's Anniversary Prizes, most recently in recognition of its vehicle, road and driver safety research.
